frequently asked questions

  • Congratulations on taking the first step! I will respond within 24-48 hours (M-F) via your preferred communication to schedule a 15-minute free phone consultation. During the consultation, I’ll learn a bit more about you and your specific therapy needs while answering any questions about myself as a therapist you may have. If it feels like a good fit for us both, I will schedule an intake session. If needed, I am happy to provide you with referrals to other therapists that are better aligned to fit your needs!

  • I do not currently accept insurance. Most major credit cards and HSA/FSA are accepted. Upon request, I can provide you with a superbill to submit to insurance for out-of-network reimbursement. I do not communicate with the insurance companies themselves, so it will be your responsibility to submit superbills to your insurance company as well as to correspond with them. If we are holding our sessions virtually, I’d recommend confirming with your insurance that Telehealth therapy is covered in their out of network benefits.

I offer a limited number of sliding scale slots as well; more information on this listed at “Do you offer sliding scale” below or under the “Investment” page.

  • I hold sessions in-person, virtual, or a blend of both. Currently, I have the most flexibility with virtual day/times. I am also available for walking therapy sessions.

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” which explains how much your medical care (in this case, psychotherapy) will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit  www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call the Colorado Division of Insurance at 303-894-7490 or 1-800-930-3745.

  • I understand life happens and I ask clients to uphold their scheduled sessions as much as possible! I ask for at least a 24 hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule to avoid a late cancellation fee. If we are able to reschedule your session within the same week, a late cancellation fee will not apply. If you late cancel and/or we are unable to reschedule, the late cancellation fee will be the full price of the session.

To accommodate emergencies, illness, etc. I offer one “freebie” late cancellation in which I will not charge the late cancellation fee for the session.

I aim to be as flexible as possible while balancing the impact of late cancellations on my schedule and livelihood. Additionally, continuity and commitment in therapy is important in maintaining progress in our work together. Thank you for understanding!

  • I do offer a limited number of sliding scale slots but do ask that you consider your financial resources utilizing the Green Bottle Method.

If you are in Tier 3 and able to pay my full fee this allows me the opportunity to support others in Tier 1 and 2. Thank you for your consideration and community support!

  • The first few sessions will have a different focus, we will spend time drawing the big picture of “you” or “you all”, ranging from past experiences to current day. After we establish the big picture, we’ll clarify and set goals to help guide our work together. As we continue towards your goals, you’ll be able to fill in the picture in finer detail while bringing in current experiences, thoughts, and emotions.

I provide a confidential, safe, and warm space to work with you utilizing various therapeutic techniques to actively listen, explore and process your experiences, address and work through barriers, promote self-awareness, identify key themes in your relational patterns, and gently challenge you as you move toward your goals and improve life between sessions.
